Today could be the beginning

Today could be the beginning. Of what? You might be asking? Of the getting. And this getting Is to the underpinning. Underpinning of life's strifes, So that my struggles will suffice. Underpinning the beginning Of my downward spiral spinnings. Sometimes, depression can come from nowhere; At first, I feel fine But then bad out of thin air. Loneliness festers-- It comes in light as a feather -- Isolated as an only child, Few friends and family members That I can depend on When the battle gets so long. So, I feel so alone. Last but not least, withdrawal. It's so unusual, It's like being in a cacoon-- In my shell, When before, I'd never be a bore. Now, I'm so shy, I'd let all the conversation go by. These are the signs, These are the results, Of past trauma I'd forgotten before.

O Praise Him!

Through my years Of endless tears, O, my soul, Praise the Lord. And when life brings A smiling face And I know God's boundless grace... O, my soul, Praise the Lord. For He (for He) Is the King (is the King) Ye-es He (Ye-es He) Is my-y King! (my-y King) Oh, Lord, my God, I pra-aise you! Yes, I praise you In all of the my years...

The author was not finding any success in acquiring a spouse. After getting counsel from the local preacher, a lady penned these words, showing her dedication to the Lord...

One Step Forward (Craft during NAMI Tennessee's In Our Own Voice training)

"One step forward, And two steps back One step forward And two steps back!" How would you like to be The model student-- That was me! But...

Yo!

Yo! I'm back in my feelin's, They straight up be illin'! Cuz it's like... I can't get this off my chest Not matter how hard I try and take off this vest-- That suited armor, Oh so calmer... It would, Be much better If I could get past this brutal weather. And I don't mean outside, But inside the mind. And my mind nearly feels lost, Will this feeling deeply cost? "What is it?" you say. I can barely find my way. This pain inside Now does not want to hide. It's peeped past the medicine, Now, I'm just tellin' you: Things must change. Yes, things must change.
